Announcement.—Joseph H. Ogura, MD, prominent St. Louis otolaryngologist, well known nationally and internationally for his head and neck cancer surgery, has been appointed by President Nixon to the National Cancer Advisory Board.

He is the only otolaryngologist on the board, established this year to advise and assist the director of the National Cancer Institute in carrying out the new National Cancer Program. The advisory board replaces the former National Advisory Cancer Council.

Dr. Ogura, Lindburgh Professor and Head, Department of Otolaryngology, Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, was notified of his appointment by Frank J. Rauscher, Jr., PhD, Director of the National Cancer Institute.

Announcement.—Raymond E. Jordan, MD, Pittsburgh, took office on Sept 1, 1972, as executive director of the American Council of Otolaryngology, major medical organization representing the nation's 7,500 ear, nose and throat specialists and their patients.
