A 77-year-old white man had had an asymptomatic mass in the right submaxillary triangle for six months. He denied any change in its size. He had had a lesion locally excised from the left side of his lower lip 11 years previously. Examination revealed a 2 x 3 cm firm, nonfixed, nontender mass in the right submaxillary triangle which could not be distinguished from the submaxillary gland. There were no visible or palpable lesions in the floor of the mouth, the tongue, or oral mucosa. There were no other neck masses. The mass was excised (Fig 1 and 2). What is your diagnosis?
