A 32-year-old woman had noted a mass which had not changed in size in her neck for three years. She had been treated with thyroid extract with no diminution of the mass. On physical examination a 2-cm, firm, nontender, mobile nodule was located in the anterior cervical triangle. It did not move when she swallowed. Results of an otolaryngic examination were normal.
