The American Board of Otolaryngology and the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology in recent months have made rather sweeping changes in their approaches to continuing medical education and evaluation. We would like to bring these developments to your attention through this editorial.
The main thrust of these new educational ventures of the board and the academy is a restructuring of present methodologies and introduction of new continuing education efforts, all of which make liberal use of modern machine graded and computer assisted evaluation techniques. In cooperation with both the board and the academy, these programs are being planned and coordinated in consultation with Natresources, Inc., a company of educational consultants with experience in similar work with other medical groups.
