To the Editor.—My sincere thanks to you and the staff for the beautiful job you did in the publication of my article "Use of the Operating Microscope" which appeared in the September 1969 ARCHIVES (90:380-382).
One small error, however a confusing one, did creep in. This was brought to my attention by one of the readers and my co-author, Mr. Jack Urban. This is in the section "Recommended Steps for Precise Eyepiece Adjustment, Step 2." Step 2 should have read, "Set the magnification changer (Fig 1, D) at x 40; instead of "x 6" as it appeared in the article.
This may have been something that I overlooked in correcting the typescript the ARCHIVES sent to me. Unfortunately, this small change defeats the rest of the steps outlined and would be most confusing to the uninitiated. Could this error be brought to the readers' attention?
