This book explores the beginnings and progression of disease, including the influence of allergy and infection, and puts together much information which relates several specialties. It covers the life cycle of certain diseases of the nose and paranasal sinuses and the lungs from the time of the first aeration of the sinuses and lungs at birth.

The first section, "Beginnings and Progression of Disease as Portrayed by Roentgen Ray," is the basis of the text. Dr. Wasson has, with painstaking care, studied the entire respiratory tract in a number of individual patients from their infancy to adulthood and concluded that almost all chronic diseases are steadily progressive conditions which begin in infancy or childhood and show their end results in adult life. This concept is expanded through the first one half of the book and is supported by abundant radiographic profiles.
