THE dermatologic literature is rich with reports on the cutaneous manifestations of the malignant lymphomas.^1-13 Scant, if any attention has been paid to this variant of lymphomas in the otolaryngologic literature. Fromer and Geokas³ estimate that 17% to 48% of patients with lymphomas will have cutaneous evidence of their disease. About 60% of the cases of Hodgkin's disease and 20% to 29% of mycosis fungoides and lymphosarcoma will present with a primary focus in the head and neck.¹⁴ Another author adds that all cases of mycosis fungoides will have cutaneous involvement, but only in 10% of the cases of Hodgkin's disease and lymphosarcoma will there be a cutaneous manifestation.¹ Our interest is to draw attention to this disease, so that those dealing primarily with the head and neck will consider this possibility in the differential diagnoses of cutaneous malignancies.
