NODULAR FASCIITIS is a tumor-like nodule that occurs in fascia and subcutaneous fat. The lesion has been found in the forearm, thigh, chest, shoulder, chin, nose, and in various muscles. It has also been called subcutaneous fibromatosis and nodular fibrositis. This is the first case to be reported in the buccal fat pad.

Clinical Findings

Cases have been reported in all ages from 3 years to 70 years. There is little difference in the incidence of the lesion among races, and the male-to-female ratio is about equal.

Patients are usually aware of a solitary nodule in which a certain degree of pain or tenderness is present.
