This is a smaller text, also containing basic and clinical information. Of special interest is the chapter on myofascial trigger mechanisms offering a basis for the use of local anesthetic blocks in the treatment of pain patterns associated with joint dysfunctions. The authors' views on the improvement of hearing, tinnitus, and aural pressure symptoms are equally interesting, and on these points one may well visualize some diversification of opinions.
Sections on occlusion and malocclusion should be read in both these books so the otolaryngologist may better understand dental problems and approaches used to treat patients with temporomandibular joint dysfunction.
