ATTENTION of our readers is directed to the report of the Committee on the Conservation of Hearing of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology on standard methods for classification, report of pathology, and report of results in tympano-plastic procedures for chronic suppurative otitis media.

This report is being published simultaneously in the Transactions of the academy.

THIS Issue of the Archives of Otolarynissue of the ARCHIVES OF OTOLARYNGOLOGY departs from our usual rule not to publish an article which appears elsewhere. Because of its importance to all otolaryngologists the paper read by Dr. Hallowell Davis before the recent meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology is being published this month in the Transactions of the academy as well as in this issue of the ARCHIVES OF OTOLARYNGOLOGY.
