Osteogenic Sarcoma Of the Mandible

Report of Case Treated by Radiation and Chemotherapy

Osteogenic sarcoma occurring in the mandible is infrequent, judging from cases reported in the literature. The following case is reported because only a very few good therapeutic results have been achieved, all with radical surgical excision of the primary lesion.

In 1959 Richards and Coleman1 reviewed all reported cases of osteogenic sarcoma of the mandible. They found reports of 50 cases but excluded all but 17 because pathologic proof of the lesion was lacking.
