Here is one of the books that admirably fits the niche that your reviewer has set apart for those of excellent characteristics of style and advanced merit of material content that commend them to our consideration although they are not of most recent vintage.

This book was not sent by the publisher for critical review. It came to hand fortuitously, and reading it for personal instruction proved it to be most worthy of critical review in this column.

Mr. Raven is a general surgeon who apparently has dedicated his professional life to the field of malignancies. In this book he has devoted his efforts to the areas of greatest interest to otolaryngologists—most especially laryngologists—the subject being considered and presented to members of our own specialty from their particular viewpoint.
