Otolaryngologic Plastic Surgery — 1960

It is not the intent of this report to present an exhaustive review of the literature in otolaryngologic plastic surgery for the year 1960. Instead, it is designed to serve a heuristic purpose and stress what is considered of fundamental importance in new techniques and research.

In the past few years the emphasis in plastic surgery has shifted from purely technical aspects to basic research and its clinical applications. Many of the techniques related to rhinoplasty and otoplasty have almost reached the stage of standardization, making fundamental changes improbable. However, there have been technical modifications and improvements reported which aid in attaining the often elusive goal of the "perfect result."
