To the Editor: On page 79/59 of the January, 1961, issue of the ARCHIVES I did say, "In a recent study of 13 cases by Williams, Childs, Parkhill, and Pugh of The Mayo Clinic the investigators conclude, 'We believe that it is fair to conclude that radiation therapy has a definite therapeutic effect on chemodectomas of the glomus jugulare.' Approximately 15 cases are discussed in the part of the report under Results of Treatment." The 15 here is a typographical error which should have been 13. I did not imply inadequate study and follow-up, I merely stated a fact that no further information was to my mind given.

In my presentation, the treatment was an extraction and presentation of facts from many authors, and not just one individual. I did not quote Williams, Childs, Parkhill, and Pugh rather extensively, nor in a critical manner. The mere fact that I used . . . [Full Text PDF of this Article]
