Report of a Case

This record depicts the steps performed in a nasal reconstruction based on functional concepts. The operation was performed on July 20, 1956, in the Memorial Hospital of Cheyenne, Wyo., by Ralph H. Riggs, M.D., assisted by Russell I. Williams, M.D. The report was written by me, who was observing from the surgery balcony about 15 ft. from the operative field and viewing through a binocular field glass. The procedure was a group demonstration included in the program of the American Rhinologic Society.

The purpose of this presentation is to illustrate the techniques of operation and a method of clinical teaching which have long been used by Maurice H. Cottle,¹ M.D., of Chicago.
