The material included in this Review represents practically all of the listings obtained from the "Current List of Medical Literature" of the National Library of Medicine covering articles that appeared during the years 1954 and 1955.

Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology

Jovanic, Lotrie, and Radojevic¹ studied specimens of the sphenoid bone in the young up to the age of 20. The sinus develops in two stages; in early childhood it is beyond the body of the sphenoid in the turbinal of Bertin (sphenoid turbinal), which is closely in apposition with the anterior wall of the bone. In the second stage there is a partial absorption of the ossicle of Bertin with resorption of bone in the body of the sphenoid. According to the authors, the transition from paleosinus to neosinus takes place in the fourth year. Other authors have stated it to be in the sixth year.
