Numerous articles have been published on the flora of acute suppurative otitis media, but very few exist on the common organisms responsible for chronic suppurative otitis media. The rapid disappearance of acute suppurative otitis media from the clinics with the advent of antibiotics and the frequent presence of chronic suppurative otitis media and its poor response to the routine treatment are the factors which are responsible for the above undertaking.
It is realized that there are anatomical factors responsible for chronicity, but it was considered essential to find out if the various organisms isolated from the discharge of chronic suppurative otitis
