CARCINOMA of the ear is not too frequently recorded in the literature. We believe, therefore, that a report should be made of 7 cases seen in the Department of Otology at Jefferson Hospital on the service of Dr. H. J. Williams in 1947 and 1948, during which time 1,883 new patients visited the clinic. In the same two years, 8 more cases were seen in other departments of the hospital. We shall also mention for the record, taken from a list of biopsies, a total of 65 carcinomas of the ear from all departments of the hospital from 1930 to 1948 inclusive.

According to Driver and Cole,¹ epithelioma of the auricle is frequently seen by the dermatologist and radiologist but seldom by the otolgist.
