ADENOMA OF THE TRACHEA

THAT adenoma of the trachea is comparatively rare is indicated by the few cases reported in the literature as well as by the personal experiences of several authorities working in large clinics.

REPORT OF A CASE

M. F., a white woman aged 37, was first seen in a medical clinic on Dec. 13, 1940. Her chief complaint at that time was asthmatic attacks, from which she had suffered for about two years. She also complained of frequent infections of the upper respiratory tract with postnasal discharge and occasional frontal headaches. She stated that she had attacks of dyspnea with hacking cough occasionally and that these were inclined to be more severe at night, lasting from a few minutes to several hours. There was no history of hemoptysis or excessive sputum. Her past history was essentially irrelevant.
