During the past decade, owing to the rapid technical improvement in radiotherapeutic armamentarium on the one side and the more recent surgical advances on the other, the problem of treatment of carcinoma of the lung has occupied an increasingly important role. Numerous articles, from illustrious sources, testify to the fact that nearly all phases of the subject are receiving careful and detailed attention. It therefore appeared to me that some benefit might be derived from the analysis, in ensemble, of a group of cases which were studied and followed up carefully over a relatively long period.

With this thought in mind, I wish to present a series of 40 cases of carcinoma of the lung. These were collected from the records of the bronchoscopic departments of Harper Hospital, Herman Kiefer Hospital and the City of Detroit Receiving Hospital.
