This is a textbook for nurses, prepared after a careful study of the needs for such a book and written in such a manner that it can be used to great advantage in teaching student nurses the things most important for them to know in order to carry out intelligently the specialist's orders and give the best possible care to their patients. The text is divided and outlined according to subject matter, so that it may readily be used for reference work as well as for general study. The language is not too technical, and those technical terms which it is necessary for the nurse to know are clearly explained. The illustrations, mostly done by the author and his wife, are excellent and help to clarify the descriptions of the anatomy and physiology of the parts dealt with and also to render the various operative setups and treatments easily visualized.
