I have observed a type of headache (apparently neuralgic in character) which is concomitant with an inflamed state of the mucous membrane of the anterior third or half of the middle turbinate of the nose. This condition is not rare in my experience, and yet I have been unable to find any literature that describes the symptoms and associated pathologic conditions that have been present in the cases passing under my observation. In the last five years I have seen from 20 to 25 patients with the symptom complex which I shall endeavor to describe.

These victims complained of pain at the nasal side of the orbit, which not infrequently involved the frontal region on the side of the head in which the pathologic condition existed.
