A NEW PORTABLE AND UTILITY LIGHT FOR THE OTOLARYNGOLOGIST

The lamp bracket described here was designed in the department of otolaryngology of the Cook County Hospital, where it has proved valuable. Similar devices are being utilized with satisfaction in the children's and contagious departments of the Cook County Hospital as well as in the infirmary of the Cook County Training School for Nurses.

The incentive for devising this light was created by the wholly inadequate facilities in the form of portable lights used heretofore in the examination of extradepartmental patients.

DESCRIPTION

The lamp bracket, shown in figure 1, is completely finished in chrome plating and is supplied with a 100 watt "bull's-eye bulb." Its weight is 17 ounces (482 Gm.), and it is encased in a carton 11 by 33/4 by 31/2 inches (28.4 by 9.7 by 9.5 cm.), which readily fits into the practitioner's bag.
