The oblique-angled knife shown in the illustration is designed for separating the cul-de-sac of the columella posterior-anteriorly for the reception of the lower end of the dislocated septal cartilage in performing my operation for the resetting of the dislocated septum, previously described in the ARCHIVES1 This knife is further useful in performing operations for cleft palate and harelip, especially for separating the tissues along the edges of the hard palate. The blade is properly angled, and the instrument is well balanced.
