This is a volume of six hundred and forty-three pages, with a large number of illustrations of gross and microscopic preparations, as well as roentgenograms. The diseases of the jaws represent a field of borderline conditions, a "no man's land," which concerns especially the dental surgeon, the general surgeon and the general practitioner, as well as the physician who is limiting his field to the practice of otolaryngology. The author drew material from the Laboratory of Oral Pathology of the Harvard University Dental School, as well as from the Boston hospitals—Boston City Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital and Peter Bent Brigham Hospital.
The volume represents an exhaustive study, with numerous references to the literature. It will serve as a valuable reference work for the general practitioner, the oral surgeon and the dentist.
