This paper represents a study of maxillary sinusitis from a roentgenologic standpoint with the aid of iodized oil. Twelve cases have been studied. Each one of the patients had chronic disease of the maxillary sinus in which the radical operation on the antrum was indicated but in which the intranasal operation was done for varying reasons. Some of the patients could not afford the time and expenses of hospitalization and operation; some refused an external operation, and because of striking results seen in two cases I advised some of these patients to have the intranasal operation when the radical one was indicated. Two patients were used as controls. Both of them had bilateral disease of the antrum, and one side was operated on by the Caldwell-Luc method and the other by the intranasal route.
