CONCOMITANCE OF SINUSITIS AND BRONCHIECTASIS

In the present investigation, designed to establish the relation, if any, between sinusitis and bronchiectasis, I first perused the literature published on the subject to ascertain the ideas of predecessors in the field, and then studied cases of bronchiectasis at Dr. Chevalier Jackson's bronchoscopic clinics of the University of Pennsylvania Hospital and Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia.

It is believed that a reading of the thoughts of others show that all of them have had some sound ideas on the subject. All of those selected claim a relationship between the two. Some attribute a causal rôle to sinusitis, others merely note the relationship. One, Dr. W. V. Mullin,1 states that every case of bronchiectasis that came under his observation was accompanied by sinusitis.
