Error in Figure Legends and Acknowledgment.

In the Original Article entitled "Upper Aerodigestive Tract Squamous Cell

Carcinoma: The Human Immunodeficiency Virus Connection," which appeared in the June 1996 issue of the ARCHIVES (1996; 122:639-643), the legends to Figures 1 and 2 were incorrect and the acknowledgment contained a misstatement. The legend for Figure 1 should have read, "Tumor size by human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) status. Patients who were positive for HIV had significantly larger tumors (P=.004; Kruskal-Wallis analysis of variance)." The legend for Figure 2 should have read, "Tumor stage by human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) status. Patients who were positive for HIV had significantly higher stages (P=.05; Kruskal-Wallis analysis of variance)." The second paragraph of the acknowledgment should have read, "Presented at the 37th Annual Meeting of the American Society for Head and Neck Surgery and recipient of the meeting's research award entitled 'American Society for Head and Neck Surgery Scholarship Award Competition First . . .
