The 37th Annual Meeting of the American Society for Head and Neck Surgery (ASHNS) occurred April 29 through May 3, 1995, in conjunction with Combined Otolaryngological Spring Meetings in Palm Desert, Calif. More than 550 physicians attended the scientific sessions. A total of 27 new members were initiated, bringing membership of the ASHNS to 808.

Dr Willard E. Fee, Jr, historian, eulogized Drs Harold Laker, George Reed, and Walter Work.

The Research Committee of the ASHNS announced 2 cash awards to support research in basic science to Dr Russell Faust from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, and to Dr Frederic Pugliana from Washington University, St Louis, Mo. Honorable mention for her submission of a proposal for research went to Dr Lisa Orloff from the University of California–San Diego.
