The Eastern Section meeting of the Triologic Society was held at the Westin William Penn Hotel, Pittsburgh, Pa, from January 26 through 28, 1995.

Patrick J. Doyle, MD, Vancouver, British Columbia, presented an informative outline of the Canadian health care system. The central Canadian government budgeted $6.4 billion (Canadian) for health care in British Columbia in 1994; about $800 million more is collected from other sources. Physician fees account for approximately 25% of this budget. Every year, Canadian newspapers list the gross payments for each physician; comparison is made of the "top earners." Dr Doyle pointed out that the same technology and quality of health care is available in Canada as in the United States.
