The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) Fellowship Program continues to enjoy greatsuccess. Approximately 401-year fellowships are currentlyavailable. These fellowships are in great demand and are becoming increasingly more competitive. Applicants for the AAFPRS Fellowship Program must have one of the following by the time the fellowship begins: (1) completion of an American Council for Graduate Medical Education–approved residency program in otolaryngology–head and neck surgery or plastic surgery; or (2) board certification in otolaryngology–head and neck surgery or plastic surgery. Applicants should not be full-time faculty members of the rank of assistant professor or higher at the institution where the fellowship will be given. The need to submit a completed application for the AAFPRS Fellowship Program by February 1 of the year before the intended starting date of the fellowship cannot be overemphasized. Late applicants have, in some cases, encountered difficulty obtaining interviews and/or fellowship positions.
