In Reply.—In publishing this article, I in no way intended on slandering the good name of Dr Richard Goode. I merely presented the results of those using a product that happens to be designed by him. Knowing how controversial this might be, I not only presented the results of our large review, but of five other previously published independent sources. These studies combined, a total of 610 documented T-tube placements (minus those tubes remaining in situ at the time of each publication), had not 7%, but closer to a 14% chronic perforation rate (Table 2).¹ Whether these complications are caused by the T tubes, methods used, or the patient populous is debatable, and an obvious excellent source of further research. The fact still remains that, of the few large published studies currently available that have addressed this issue, there is definitely a substantial increase in perforation rates well . . .
