The following reports the proceedings of the Western Section Meeting of the Triologic Society, which took place at the Four Seasons Olympic Hotel in Seattle, Wash, from January 8 through 10, 1993.

Intermaxillary fixation, using cortical bone screws with intermaxillary wires instead of traditional arch bars, was described by Richard F. Busch, MD, Bakersfield, Calif. The technique has been used in 67 cases with reduced operative time and reduced risk of skin puncture by wires. The technique can be applied in tandem with plating in unstable fractures. (1)

Placement of a Blom-Singer prosthesis resulted in effective voicing for a patient who had undergone a laryngotracheal separation procedure. This case was reported by David H.
