This issue marks a moment of transition for the ARCHIVES. Some of the changes are important and substantive, others are cosmetic. Readers will have noticed that the cover of the ARCHIVES has changed colors (no one really seemed to like green). You may also notice that the layout and typeface of the articles have been modified to make them more "reader friendly." These subtle changes in style coincide with the major change of note with this issue—a new editor for the journal.
This is an ideal moment to assess the state of the ARCHIVES. I am pleased to say that the new editor is receiving a journal that is in excellent health. Archives of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery continues to be the premier journal in the specialty by virtually all criteria.
