Tinnitus '91. The Fourth International Tinnitus Seminar will be held in Bordeaux, France, from August 27 through 30, 1991. This seminar is the continuation of the seminars held in New York, NY (1979 and 1983), and Münster, Federal Republic of Germany (1987). Since the last seminar, progress has been made in the objective assessment of tinnitus and the study of experimental models offering new research perspectives. Thus, the seminar in Bordeaux will be an opportunity to exchange information on new developments and consider their clinical relevance.

The scientific program will consist of invited lectures and free communications in the following areas: acoustic perception and tinnitus, objective assessment of tinnitus, peripheral and central neurophysiological processes such as the example of pain, functional neuroanatomy, and plasticity, experimental models, pharmacological aspects, the effects of acoustic and electric stimulations, psychological aspects, and prevention, patient management, and alternative treatments.
