The Jack R. Anderson lectureship was established by the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in honor of Dr Anderson. This annual lectureship is to be given by distinguished members of other medical disciplines. The first lecturer was David M Sarver, DMD, MS (Fig 1), a noted orthodontist from Birmingham, Ala. His lecture on "The Interaction of Orthodontics and Orthognathic Surgery in Facial Aesthetics" was given at the fall 1988 meeting of the Academy.
