Gaylon McCollough, MD, Birmingham, Ala, presented an original technique for tip modification in rhinoplasty at the Denver meeting of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. A series of 200 nasal procedures in which the dome is divided and two mattress sutures employed to create a double-dome unit was performed. Dr McCollough demonstrated that this technique creates a more triangular lobule with increased projection. Dr McCollough's presentation included representative cases, adding that this technique increases the likelihood of symmetry, thereby creating a very natural-appearing tip.
