This book is, as the subtitle explains, "a photographic color atlas of MRI, CT, gross, and microscopic anatomy in the axial, coronal, and sagittal planes." The typical two-page section contains a good quality photograph of cadaver anatomy (with all structures clearly labeled) on the right hand page, and corresponding computed tomographic or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans on the left hand page, again with all structures clearly labeled. Planes of the scans and cadaver sections are diagramed on lateral skull films, and legends of all scans specify whether the subject was a patient or a cadaver. Several paragraphs of very readable text accompany each two-page spread.
Of the 311 pages, 20 are devoted to the temporal bone and six to the larynx. There are gross anatomic photographs and computed tomographic scans of each area, but no MRI scans. Interspersed among the other chapters are illustrations showing, but not emphasizing, further
