Pathology of the Larynx was published in 1984 and consists of 353 pages divided into 37 chapters, with 219 illustrations and 335 references. The book is organized into four major divisions: (1) the normal larynx, (2) nonneoplastic lesions, (3) squamous cell neoplasms, and (4) nonepidermoid malignancies.

The illustrations are good, and the author's liberal use of whole-mount organ sections are especially helpful in appreciating the complex three-dimensional anatomy and pathology of the larynx. References for a book of this size, however, are limited, and certain key ones are missing. The index is detailed and useful.

The section on the normal larynx dealing with embryologic development and normal gross and microscopic anatomy will, no doubt, be of immense value to the general pathologist. The sections on nonneoplastic lesions (especially the one relating to infections) and squamous cell neoplasms are also generally well done and informative.
