When I first considered this book, I was concerned that perhaps the approach to neurotology by a neurologist may not be very apropos for otolaryngologists. I could not have been more mistaken. This book is a superbly done approach to the subject of neurotology. It is especially valuable for the development of an organized approach toward the management of patients with neurologic symptoms. Algorithms within the text on evaluation of the dizzy patient are absolutely superb. The anatomy section is well done, and the pathophysiology section is the best I have ever seen in any textbook. Difficult concepts are very clearly presented. The bibliography is complete and up-to-date. Dr Baloh makes very few statements that are not substantiated by a reference that is both recent and representative of well-respected authors.
