This book is, as the title states, an introductory workbook to assist in the interpretation of computed tomographic (CT) scans of head and neck problems. The authors present a systematic approach to the evaluation of head and neck CT scans. Line drawings of scan reproductions are used to teach the anatomy of the specific cross section of each scan. Checklists are provided to encourage completeness of scan evaluation. This approach enables the scan interpreter to be more accurate in his assessment of disease type and extent.
The book was written for the instruction of radiologists and radiology residents, but it is very important that otolaryngologists also learn the evaluation techniques, as not all radiologists possess the interpretive skills of these authors.
