This atlas is part of a series of comprehensive surgical atlases in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery that have been organized and edited by K. J. Lee, MD. This particular volume consists of almost 600 pages and is organized into 16 sections, each one dealing with a separate anatomic region. Five other surgeons have also contributed to this volume.

Each chapter describes a family of operative procedures that have been employed successfully by the authors in their clinical practice. For each operative procedure, the authors provide sections dealing with indications and applications, technique, discussion, and relevant references from the medical literature.

The measure of any atlas is in the value of the illustrative material and, in this case, the figures are somewhat variable in regard to artistic quality and anatomic accuracy, but the message comes through clearly as a guide for surgeons performing these operations.
