To the Editor.—I read with interest the article by Schaefer et al,1 published in the November 1982 ARCHIVES, entitled "Computed Tomographic Assessment of Squamous Cell Carcinoma of Oral and Pharyngeal Cavities." In fact, I presented this article at our journal club meeting.
A question arose at the meeting concerning the 20 patients with unknown primary lesions that were subsequently identified using computed tomography (CT) and random biopsies. We are interested in learning how many lesions were identified with CT alone and how many were identified by biopsy alone.
Any information concerning this would be appreciated.
