This is simply a 453-page hardback atlas of normal computed tomographic (CT) head and neck anatomy. It uses the images produced on a high-resolution, thin-section (modified EMI 5005 HR/TS) CT scanner; the subject is the head from the cadaver of a normal 50-year-old woman.

The authors proceed to demonstrate transverse, coronal, and sagittal thin-section anatomy of this subject and include images in similar display of the temporal bone. Coronal reconstructions are also depicted from the transverse imaging data. The last series of images show the effects of variations in window levels and widths, variations in slice thickness, and variations in scan-field size. The authors make brief reference to pixel smoothing and image subtraction. The atlas concludes with an anatomic glossary and index related to the preceding figures.
