Conference.–An international conference on head and neck cancer sponsored by the Society of Head and Neck Surgeons and the American Society for Head and Neck Surgery will be held July 22-27, 1984. The program, which will provide a comprehensive presentation of the present status and recent results of basic research and treatment in head and neck cancer, will be presented through symposia, panels, workshops, didactic sessions, cine discussions and scientific exhibits. Topics include basic research in virology, biochemistry, immunology, and cell and tissue culture; etiologic factors; carcinogens; viral studies; epidemiology; early detection; diagnosis and staging; results of surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy; modifications of standard treatments; new treatment modalities; nutrition; rehabilitation; reconstruction; design of clinical trials; and statistical considerations.
