NIH Data Book Available.—The NIH Data Book: 1983, designed to supply current and historical information on National Institutes of Health programs and their national settings, has been published by NIH's Office of Program Planning and Evaluation.

The 70-page booklet presents data on research costs and NIH appropriations and awards. Also included in the publication is information on mortality and morbidity from selected causes, the financial contributions of government, industry, and private nonprofit groups to the total health research effort, and basic data on the NIH staff.
