When I was asked to review this book, I had already purchased and read it from cover to cover; I was, therefore, delighted to justify my own expenditure.

In 292 pages of clear and easily readable text, complemented by exceptional quality illustrations, these two preeminent authorities have organized this subject into nine chapters based, in large measure, on their numerous collective publications. Each chapter updates the state of the art in computed tomography (CT) imaging. This book forms a basic compendium for the practitioner who wishes to understand present CT concepts.

Appropriately, much of the emphasis relates to cancer diagnosis. The first two chapters are on the larynx and hypopharynx. Chapter 3 deals with laryngeal trauma and other benign conditions. An excellent chapter on the thyroid and parathyroid glands, as well as other neck masses, introduces ultrasound scanning in an appropriate correlation.
