Grundmann et al in this book entitled Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma, have put together a compilation of papers presented at a three-day symposium on nasopharyngeal carcinoma in Dusseldorf, West Germany, conducted Oct 23-25, 1980. During this symposium, the pathologic classification of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, along with correlations between histologic types, ethnic risk groups, HLA antigen profiles, and Epstein-Barr virus seroimmunology was discussed. The clinical staging of nasopharyngeal carcinoma and correlations between Epstein-Barr virus antibodies and various staging systems were discussed. Clinical applications on the prevention and treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma constitute the last session of the three-day symposium.
