To the Editor.—I would like to comment on the article entitled "The Dorsal Nasal Flap" by Bray et al that was published in the December 1981 ARCHIVES (107:765-766).
Undoubtedly, the dorsal nasal flap is useful in resurfacing the lower part of the nose, especially the tip, and it is reliable due to its rich blood supply. The cosmetic results are satisfactory when the cases are carefully chosen, but often skin grafts of proper donor sites and thickness give, at least, the same good results and are much simpler and easier to perform. Moreover, the dorsal nasal flap is not always a one-stage procedure and the cosmetic results are not always the best ones we can offer to the patient.
