The treatise Choices: Realistic Alternatives in Cancer Treatment by Marion Morra and Eve Potts is an ambitious document concerning all aspects of cancer written by knowledgeable lay persons for those with cancer and their friends and relatives. There is no book written that can take the place of a good physician-patient relationship, but, all in all, this text comes the closest, since it allows cancer patients to understand their illness better and hopefully will help them cope more effectively with the various problems that they face from the time of diagnosis through extensive therapy and in the terminal phase.
The first part of this book could be extremely valuable to cancer patients and their relatives. It covers the general topics of coping and attitudes.
